NMEA 2000 Ethernet Gateway YDEN-02

The Gateway connects navigation PCs and laptops to NMEA 2000 over Ethernet, Garmin Marine Network, Raymarine SeaTalk HS and RayNet, Furuno NavNet, or NMEA OneNet, and allows bridging of NMEA 2000 networks.

The Gateway is equipped with a standard Ethernet RJ45 connector, and you may need a proprietary adapter to connect it with your vessel's network; direct connection to PC with standard computer cable is also supported.

The Device provides NMEA 0183 and NMEA 2000 data streams using TCP and/or UDP protocols, and has a bi-directional converter between NMEA 0183 and NMEA 2000. This allows viewing of navigational data including AIS as well as managing NMEA equipment including autopilot from virtually all marine software, e.g. OpenCPN (NMEA 0183 only) and Expedition 10 (both NMEA 0183 and NMEA 2000 protocols are supported). The Gateway has three data servers (TCP/UDP), which allows tailored settings for different applications.

The Web Gauges page of the built-in web site allows managing of autopilot and digital switching equipment, and real time viewing of vessel data using a web browser on PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone; no internet connection or app installation is required. If you have access to your boat Ethernet network over the internet, Web Gauges are a ready solution to monitor and manage your vessel.

  • Data page with circular course and wind gauges
  • Twin engine RPM, temperature and fuel rate (day palette)
  • Depth graph and text data bars
  • Customization of a data page layout
  • NMEA 0183 log
  • Control of Raymarine and Yacht Devices autipolots

The built-in web site also allows configuration of the Gateway and updating of the firmware, it also allows viewing NMEA 0183 and NMEA 2000 data streams right from a web browser for diagnostics. The Gateway automatically records your track with weather, depth and other data (the same as Wi-Fi Router) to the internal memory (up to 12000 points). These data can be saved from the internal web site to GPX (for Garmin MapSource, Google Earth or other cartographic applications) or CSV (spreadsheet) files.

  • NMEA data servers (TCP or UDP network protocols; NMEA 0183, NMEA 2000 (RAW), Memory or Debug data protocols)
  • Static IP, automatically obtained IP or DHCP server modes
  • NMEA settings (true wind calculation, autopilot control, etc.)
  • Data logging and Cloud Services settings
  • Individual filters for each port or server
  • Do not forget to change the default password
  • Outgoing connection settings

If the Gateway has an internet connection, it can automatically upload recoreded data to Cloud Service. Cloud Service allows easy access to your tracks or monitor your boat from home and lets you share your position with family and friends. To learn more about Cloud Service, read this article or visit: https://cloud.yachtd.com/

Features of the Gateway:

  • can be configured for static IP address, or to obtain an IP automatically, or work as a DHCP server;
  • is compatible with 10 Mb/s, 100 Mb/s and 1000 Mb/s Ethernet networks;
  • provides high-voltage galvanic isolation between NMEA 2000 and Ethernet interfaces;
  • support mDNS and Bonjour protocols for easy discovery in the network;
  • powered from NMEA 2000, low power consumption (less than 50 mA);
  • pair of Gateways can bridge two NMEA 2000 segments over Ethernet.

Note that Ethernet cable is not supplied with the Gateway, for direct connection with a PC or Garmin Marine Network, a regular RJ45 Male-Male Cat 5e/6 cable is required (can be purchased in any computer store). For Raymarine RayNet, use cables with Raymarine part numbers A62360, A80151, A80159; for Raymarine SeaTalk HS use cables with part numbers E55049, E55050, E55051.
